Adventures in Jewelry - June 2015

In my creative endeavors I dreamed up ideas for jewelry and asked a jewelry making friend to make my earring designs into earrings and put a clasp on my necklace design.  The results are these lovely pieces.   Admittedly, seeing the finished products is refreshing and satisfying.

For the earrings, I used a steel hook and crochet thread (pink) or sock yarn (blue) stitched through a small jewelry ring as the base and expanded downward with double crochets and a variation on the shell stitch.  I like how they came out.  The pink are simple and elegant while the blue are fun with a little bit of color variation peeking through.  Each pair measures about an inch across.

On the necklace, the pennant heart I found in my shopping about meshes well with the color pattern of the yarn.  As for the fit, when I tried it on myself it hung loose with the pennant just below my collar bone.

Enjoy!
