Adventures in Soap-On-A-Rope Take 3

Of my new favorite products, the Soap-On-A-Rope is my current focus.  This has been one of my biggest sellers at vendor events, but not just as Soap-On-A-Rope Soap Socks!  Several people have bought one because it fit their phone or iPod as a carry case!  I make these as Soap Socks and I also make cell phone and other electronic purses.

Adventures in Bookmarks #1

Since living in a new place after moving with the ship, I have stumbled across a few good resources.  One of which is a book store (Witt's End Bookstore in Marysville, WA) where they not only sell, resell, and buy books but they also do consignment.  While there are many products available from other crafty people, I have been making bookmarks for consignment with them.  Here is the first set.

Adventures in Designed and Lined Beanies

I figured I would share this crochet combo.  This is two different versions of the same hat.  Inside of each is lined with a felt material which is hand sewn into the hat.  I am thinking about playing with other designs like this and even making other lined products including hats, purses, and mittens (or fingerless mitts).

Stay tuned for more great products!

Adventures in Pet Hats

One suggestion from people is to start making pet hats.  Here are two examples.  The first one I made (modeled) was made at a special request and the second one (orange) was an order that came from a friend of the person who bought the first pet hat.

Stay tuned for more updates!

Adventures in Team Spirit

A while back I posted School Pride and Team Spirit stuff.  Now I'm giving an update!  Since I live in the Pacific North West (PNW), the Seahawks football team is the one team I hear the most about.  EVERYONE love the Seahawks... ok, maybe with the few exceptions from the transplants, but I'm sure the Seahawks fans will forgive them.

I really like these two sets, the Two-Tone and Bumblebee, and can make them in pretty much any color.  I have made these in blue and green (Seahawks), some in blue and gold (Bremerton HS, Washington), a set in purple and gold (Permian HS, Texas), and even a set for my sister in purples.  Additionally, I also make headbands and accessories in pretty much any color.  I really enjoy making practical things for people to use.

Adventures in Socks

A few weeks ago I had a special order for some warm wool socks.  The guy that ordered them said he didn't care what color, so I found this skein in my stash and made two wonderful pair of warm wool socks!  I really enjoy knitting with self-striping yarn.

The yarn is OnLine brand, Comic-Color, made in Italy and labeled in German.  I found it on clearance at a local yarn shop and I'm glad it worked up so well!  My husband enjoyed modeling and testing them out so much that I now need to make another pair just for him... without the no-slip grip, though.

Much gratitude to the lovely couple at the Chamber of Commerce.

On the bottom I put no-slip grip.

Adventures in Soap-on-a-Rope Take 2

Here are my first 10 Soap-on-a-Rope products... in no particular order.  Some are crocheted, most are knit, but all of them hold soap!

I have really enjoyed working on these.  Often I tag them in Facbook posts as #SoapSocks and I love to share the designs I work out.  You will probably see there are some that are similar.  I took the same design and made knit and crochet versions in the same yarns, so there are two "mirror pairs" of Soap-on-a-Ropes in the picture.  At the top there is the swimming pool color yarn and at the bottom is the white, orange, and blue color Soap-on-a-Ropes, each knit and crochet.  I'll have to admit that those were fun to work up simply to see the differences and similarities between the "mirror pairs."

I hope you enjoyed these.  As always, for more information contact Tabi at Tabi's Creating Adventures!

Adventures in Soap-on-a-Rope

I am excited and pleased to announce these new products to my line.  I am adding them slowly by slowly to each Facebook and Etsy.

After working with The Soap Crate in Kingston, WA, I decided I wanted to make my own Soap-on-a-Rope bags to take advantage of the bath soaps I bought.  Since then I have thought about making other Soap-on-a-Rope bags for the business, but didn't until this last week.  Now I will have Soap-on-a-Rope gift sets at my next vendor event!!  These are only the first three I have made.  I will write another post to share the other colors before the vendor event.

I hope you enjoyed this post!  For more information on vendor events and opportunities to interact with Tabi's Creating Adventures, please log on to Facebook or Etsy.

Hanging Towel Sets - Never Too Early for Christmas and Simple Luxury

As you may have noticed, I do enjoy hanging towels (as per inspiration from my Mom).  These sets are some I have been waiting to work on.  So many things to do, so little time!

The snowman (set of 2) is part of a gift for a friend.  I can now rest knowing that I have completed this part of the gift.  Though I must say it was nice that I had to wait because I found some other little things that go perfectly with this towel set.  I can't wait to give it to her!

On the other hand, I have this set of 4 hanging towels which are my first attempt at knitting cables for a product.  I think they came out quite wonderfully!  I am thinking, though, I would like to try a different stitch combination for the handles.

I can't wait to share my next set of products with you!  They are new to Tabi's Creating Adventures and I have many colors with which to experiment!  For the most up-to-date pictures, be sure to check out my Facebook page (listed below)!

A Little Something for Me

So a while back (over a year ago) a lady from church gave me a gift card for a local yarn shop for my birthday.  I finally did something with the yarn I bought.  This is the first project I made for myself, a toboggan.  I was drawn to this yarn because of its unique colors and hue, heavy on the blue, light on the green, and with a hint of pink/purple.  My second project for myself was my well-known cotton cloth in the "double-stitch" pattern plus a couple of experiments in hearts.  I set the larger heart on my table and it became a coaster... cutest coaster ever, though!  I still have one more skein of cotton yarn (in different colors) and a skein of unique yarn (hand spun in Chili).

Blessings and Peace!
