Adventures in Socks

A few weeks ago I had a special order for some warm wool socks.  The guy that ordered them said he didn't care what color, so I found this skein in my stash and made two wonderful pair of warm wool socks!  I really enjoy knitting with self-striping yarn.

The yarn is OnLine brand, Comic-Color, made in Italy and labeled in German.  I found it on clearance at a local yarn shop and I'm glad it worked up so well!  My husband enjoyed modeling and testing them out so much that I now need to make another pair just for him... without the no-slip grip, though.

Much gratitude to the lovely couple at the Chamber of Commerce.

On the bottom I put no-slip grip.

Have a Blessed day!

Adventures in Soap-on-a-Rope Take 2

Here are my first 10 Soap-on-a-Rope products... in no particular order.  Some are crocheted, most are knit, but all of them hold soap!

I have really enjoyed working on these.  Often I tag them in Facbook posts as #SoapSocks and I love to share the designs I work out.  You will probably see there are some that are similar.  I took the same design and made knit and crochet versions in the same yarns, so there are two "mirror pairs" of Soap-on-a-Ropes in the picture.  At the top there is the swimming pool color yarn and at the bottom is the white, orange, and blue color Soap-on-a-Ropes, each knit and crochet.  I'll have to admit that those were fun to work up simply to see the differences and similarities between the "mirror pairs."

I hope you enjoyed these.  As always, for more information contact Tabi at Tabi's Creating Adventures!

Adventures in Soap-on-a-Rope

I am excited and pleased to announce these new products to my line.  I am adding them slowly by slowly to each Facebook and Etsy.

After working with The Soap Crate in Kingston, WA, I decided I wanted to make my own Soap-on-a-Rope bags to take advantage of the bath soaps I bought.  Since then I have thought about making other Soap-on-a-Rope bags for the business, but didn't until this last week.  Now I will have Soap-on-a-Rope gift sets at my next vendor event!!  These are only the first three I have made.  I will write another post to share the other colors before the vendor event.

I hope you enjoyed this post!  For more information on vendor events and opportunities to interact with Tabi's Creating Adventures, please log on to Facebook or Etsy.

Hanging Towel Sets - Never Too Early for Christmas and Simple Luxury

As you may have noticed, I do enjoy hanging towels (as per inspiration from my Mom).  These sets are some I have been waiting to work on.  So many things to do, so little time!

The snowman (set of 2) is part of a gift for a friend.  I can now rest knowing that I have completed this part of the gift.  Though I must say it was nice that I had to wait because I found some other little things that go perfectly with this towel set.  I can't wait to give it to her!

On the other hand, I have this set of 4 hanging towels which are my first attempt at knitting cables for a product.  I think they came out quite wonderfully!  I am thinking, though, I would like to try a different stitch combination for the handles.

I can't wait to share my next set of products with you!  They are new to Tabi's Creating Adventures and I have many colors with which to experiment!  For the most up-to-date pictures, be sure to check out my Facebook page (listed below)!

A Little Something for Me

So a while back (over a year ago) a lady from church gave me a gift card for a local yarn shop for my birthday.  I finally did something with the yarn I bought.  This is the first project I made for myself, a toboggan.  I was drawn to this yarn because of its unique colors and hue, heavy on the blue, light on the green, and with a hint of pink/purple.  My second project for myself was my well-known cotton cloth in the "double-stitch" pattern plus a couple of experiments in hearts.  I set the larger heart on my table and it became a coaster... cutest coaster ever, though!  I still have one more skein of cotton yarn (in different colors) and a skein of unique yarn (hand spun in Chili).

Adventures in Angel Hair Headbands

As mentioned before, I am on an Angel Hair yarn kick.  These warm, cozy, crocheted headbands are perfect for those cold winter walks with the loved ones!  Also, headbands pair well with matching fingerless mitts for an amazing birthday, Christmas, Valentines, or "because I can" gift!

Adventures in Angel Hair Fingerless Mitts

As I said last time, I've been on an Angel Hair yarn kick.  These two pairs of fingerless mitts came by inspiration.  First (in green, blue, white, and black) I made a pair mitts for someone with larger hands.  Even though I tried to make it slightly larger, I managed a pair of adult extra-large fingerless mitts.  I'll have to remember thicker yarn doesn't need that many more stitches for a larger size.  They're still super soft, though!  Second, I was inspired by the upcoming Valentine's Day and so used red with black for a break in the color.  I thought about using an applique, but decided I prefer a single stripe with edging.  I am very pleased with how these came out.

Adventures in Angel Hair Hats

I've been on an Angel Hair yarn kick recently.  Angel Hair yarn is super soft!  I especially like making fingerless mitts with it, but this time was hats.  The adult size hat (bottom two pictures) would go well with the fingerless mitts from the last post.  For a kiddo, though, the Kid's Chevron Hat (top two pictures) would be perfect!

Adventures in Fingerless Mitts

In an effort to add more colorful things to my repertoire, I pulled these lovely fingerless mitts together.  I used Angel Hair yarn in each pink and green to create a cozy, soft, colorful, and inviting feel.  On top of that, this project was a "road-trip" project.  This is one project I really enjoy making on road trips because of how easy it is to pull them together and how little space it takes.
